Street Fighter 6 systems that decide the round

The Drive Gauge is the whole argument of Street Fighter 6. Six stocks pay for Drive Rush, Drive Impact, Drive Parry, Drive Reversal and Overdrive specials. Spend them carelessly and Burnout locks those options until the bar returns. The cards below separate that resource from Classic and Modern controls, the ranked climb, and the training tools Capcom actually put in the game. Open Round is a fan desk, not an official Capcom manual.

Drive stocks

A raw Drive Rush and a Drive Impact each spend one stock. Overdrive specials and Drive Reversal spend two. Parry can be held, and it drains the gauge while it is up.

Perfect Parry

Tap parry in the strike window and the recovery is kinder than a late block. It is the clean answer to a Drive Rush cancel that would otherwise loop forever.

Classic or Modern

Classic is the six-button motion layout veterans expect. Modern binds specials to one button and trims some damage. Ranked accepts both, so the choice is comfort, not a ban.

Burnout punish

At zero stocks you cannot spend Drive. A Drive Impact against a burnt-out opponent crumples them. That is why the corner feels so much louder after a long block string.

How ranked is built

From placement matches to Master Rate

Fighting Ground ranked starts with placement, then climbs Rookie, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Master. League points move you inside those ranks. Once you reach Master, a separate Master Rate sorts the strongest players, and the public leaderboards are where Legend talk usually starts. A new patch can move a character a full tier without moving your points, so check the date on any tier list before you copy it.

What training mode shows

  • Frame advantage after a normal, a special or a Drive Rush cancel
  • Input history so a dropped motion is visible, not guessed
  • Dummy settings for wakeup, block and a recording of the problem string
  • How we label unofficial talk in the editorial note and site terms

Ready to see where those systems live?

Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub use the same Drive Gauge for very different jobs. The mode pages spell that out.
